Event Description

Immerse yourself in the magical world of honeybees" for two days on a biodynamic-organic farm near Battle Ground, WA with  Jacqueline Freeman and Michael Thiele.

'Bees were once thought to be heavenly messengers, an expression of wisdom in the universe. The oneness of the bee colony reveals the interconnectedness of the world and of ourselves within the world.  To recognize & understand the unique nature of the bees means to recognize & understand our own fundamental nature. The oneness of the bee colony reveals the interconnectedness of the world & of ourselves within the world.

In modern agriculture, this deeper meaning has been lost. With a bee-centered approach we can re-establish a reverent and respectful relationship with them. Come with an open heart.  Learn their spiritual mission and how they sense the world. Understand their communications as you become a human bee-ing and a friend to bees."

Co-instructor Michael has been deeply influenced by the biodynamic apiculture movement and teaches classes on natural and holistic apiculture in the United States and abroad. He is coming north from his home in California to co-teach this workshop.    He lived and practiced for almost 10 years at San Francisco Zen Center, created the SFZC Honey Bee program and tended the monastic hives.     In 2007, Michael co-founded “The Melissa Garden” (www.themelissagarden.com) in California, one of many Honey Bee Sanctuaries in the US, an innovative apiary and global resource center for biodynamic and holistic apiculture.   He founded Gaia Bees (www.gaiabees.com) to create an educational platform and resource for a new approach to living with bees. Contemplation, introspection, geomancy, conscious apiculture and claire-sensing form the core of this new way of living with bees.    He is featured in the “Queen of the sun” documentary film (www.queenofthesun.com).

Cost $175- Auguest 11-12  10am-3:30 pm.
