Event Description

BACKYARD BEANS & GRAINS PROJECT WORK PARTIES
HAND HARVEST AND THRESHING TECHNIQUES FOR GRAINS AND DRY BEANS

Learn how to hand-harvest and thresh grains and dry beans, important crops for year-round local food security. Work parties to support the Backyard Beans & Grains Project will be held every other Wednesday afternoon during harvest/threshing season. Each week will focus on different crops as they become mature in the field. The cost is free: we will share our knowledge and experience with you in exchange for your labor. Bring gloves, water, a snack and a hat.

When: Wednesday afternoons from 3-6pm: August 17, 31; September 14, 28; October 12, 26
Location: Broadleaf Farm, Robinson Road, Everson. Call or email for exact directions to the farm and our field.
RSVP Required: Weather conditions affect harvest so we need to know who is coming as cancellations or rescheduling may occur.
