Chuckanut Transition is helping the community learn about the proposed “Blanchard Nob” development by inviting the Friends of Skagit County to give an informational presentation about the history of this property and the laws pertaining to subdivisions and water usage. An application was submitted to the State of Washington Dept. of Ecology for appropriation of public waters from a well in the amount of 50 gallons per minute for multiple domestic supply. This calculates to 72,000 gallons per day. With the possibility of 27 new homes, can our aquifers support such demands?
The proposed development is located approximately ½ mile W. from where Wood Rd. changes from pavement to gravel, look for public notice signs.
