In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I believe in growing food for self sufficency, and giving others the ability to grow their own on my land if they have no place to grow their own where they live, in a cooperative effort.
I believe that to move forward we need a firm grasp on our past to know how to not repeat the mistakes.
I prefer barter to cash as a $1 and a $50 take the same amount of time to burn with flame and both produce the same amount of heat, yet the time and energy to do a task can be measured in a more balanced manner.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Land, fruit trees, knowelege, tools to share with people who want to barter.
I have the privilege of having the space available for children who want to grow an animal (Pig, Goat, Sheep, Or Cow/Steer) do so at my farm for FFA or 4H. I have angora goats and will let a child care for the animal for a season to have the wool for the production of a garment, yarn etc as a school club or senior project.
I will discuss doing the same for a dedicated family as well.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Northwest and Axton Drive (North Bellingham)

Welcome Lady Hamster. Glad you are here. You can join different groups and receive updates about them here. One group I know you will enjoy is the one about raising poultry. I think to get there, click on "groups menu" on the top bar above.
I'm kind of new to these "ning" sites. I was getting back to you about the wayward ladies (lost hens!) and I had been sending you messages instead of leaving a comment. Okay! Anyway, give me a call today 756-0683! I live south of Fairhaven Pkway.
