cultivating resilient system design skills, transforming resource intensive lawns into resource producing edible landscapes, advocating for a pedal powered Bellingham
I'm focusing on transforming my pessimistic perspective and my fatalistic tendencies into positive action. I believe this a very crucial task in the Transition and one I could use support in. If you catch me displaying my old ways please fell free to give me a nudge and ask "How can you/we transform (fill in the blank) into positive action?" Thanks for your help.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
concern about peak oil
interested in orgainizing with like minded people to design/ create resilient systems
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
interests: permaculture, urban agriculture, rainwater harvesting, small scale low tech greywater systems, low tech human powered machines
skills: CAD drafting, rainwater harvesting system design
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?

Hey Joseph
Do you have any info on ecological fluidized beds ?? Big words for residential black water system like Jack Todd has in his Maine house with (3) 50 gal. drums in his daylight basement and a septic tank outside.
I had a video link in one of the Garden e-news..... I'd love to see someone do a prototype of this system locally.
Thanks for getting in touch, Joseph. I hope my husband and I can meet your family some time soon. In the long term--after the holidays? next spring?--I'm interested in a Broadway Park group, too, and can contribute some time.
Hi Joseph! Thanks for the link for another bicycle-powered tool website: http://rockthebike.com/power/bikerbar
I'm thinking I may get a discussion going about 'Sustainable Energy using Renewable Resources for heating, transportation, & powering tools'....do you want to join in if I or another posts a forum?
HI Joseph, Welcome to the Organic Gardeners & Edible Forest Gardeners group! I'm also interested in low-tech human powered machines, ie bicycle powered and so are WT members Travis & Brian....I'll look forward to seeing you at seed-swap...If you can help out with take down or set up we could use the extra help...Contact Bruce (or me & I'll pass the word!)

Great to dig potatoes with you.
I need your email address to put you on the Garden E-news list...
So happy to see you and Cath here. Nice to hear you're in the permaculture class too.
