Eric- Ah Now I know who Vandana Shiva is!!!  How ever did I miss not hearing her speak before...She speaks the truth in my language!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xz5mjkxua3w&feature=youtu.be

Let me know if you have any favorite talks by her.

I also have remembered the term you shared this week "Environmental Racism".

I shared the term & concept with a young professional while working in a community garden yesterday, and she 'got' the concept right away!   And she is interested in the Democracy School....she'll look me up on this TW community site.

I wanted to encourage you to consider writing a blog about what you're learning in regards to healing both the green & brown on the earth...sharing on the issues & actions needed to stop environment racism.

I'll be at diaglogue forum with community to community Fri before our seedgroup...I think you're in class then but give a call if you want directions/details.   thanks for all you do!   Heather

Hi Eric!  Thanks for posting the video of the city coal meeting! Wish there was one for the meeting held out in Acme.  Thanks also for the events you post on the site and the networking you're doing!

You've got to try to come out here this week if you can get a ride or bike out.  There are flowers & trees blooming all over...It doesn't get any better than this!

Hi Eric! Great to learn you're co-creating the event “Seed Sovereignty: Away to Food Security, Cultural Preservation & Environmental Stewardship”- http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/events/seed-sovereignty-a-way-to-food

As its spring planting time, so I'm not sure I can attend the event at WWU. I'll pass the word to Max and see if he knows someone who can video & post it, unless you all have that covered.

Two other Transition Networks that might interest you:

GMO Action & Awarenes- http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/gmoaction

Seed-Savers: Preserving Our Ecological Heritage - http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/seedsavers (special interest group for serious seed-savers).

Would you like to invite Matia Jones to our Transition Whatcom network?

She might like an invite to either the Seed Saver network, or the Earth Gardens network, or the GMO network, or the Food Security group.

Hi Eric, Re Walter's blogs that now longer show on TW- If you send him an email or comment, he can provide a link to to other sites where he will be posting.

Remember to consider looking into what ReSources is offering this year with classes & community garden.  I hope to contact them too for my Columbia/Birchwood urban 'home' & friends.

Here's the link/info you requested:  Social Permaculture is the connections between people and how we make decisions & care for each other.

"View this 9" Democracy School Introductory Video-   http://www.celdf.org/section.php?id=35

This video tells about a weekend Democracy School weekend that enables residents to reclaim the original form of democracy, where residents make decisions on the best way to care for the earth's resources & each other. We can unite together and not allow corporations have any authority to make decisions on our homeland.  Seattle just held a deomocracy school and more weekend schools are being held all over the country."

Hi Eric, it was good to see you too. And I figured you added me while we in the computer lab- I had my email open, procrastinating as usual. Lab write ups are only so interesting... :) Anyway, hopefully I'll see you around campus sometime soon!

Hey Eric,
It was so great to have you at the Ecological Restoration group meeting last week. I am wondering if you are interested in attending the scythe workshop on Saturday out at Inspiration Farm. It only costs $30. If you are interested, I can drive.
Please call if you think you can come. 738-2148.

Hi Eric! Welcome to the TW online site and to the 'Organic Gardeners....Permi" group! I'm also a lifelong student of applied 'human ecology"!
Just to pass the word, many of us communicate our garden related events & work-parties through Shannon's Garden-E-News. More info here: http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/organic/forum/topics/sharing-events-workshop-on
There is also a new group in forming to connect Volunteer/apprentice with mentors & gardeners/farmers, along with connecting available land to gardeners who care for the earth, called "Gaia's Guardians" - http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/plantingseedsofchangevolunteers
