Hi Heather
Transition US has a great group going on with lots of information and support for newbies. Kathy Jacobsen and I started the ball rolling and it has gotten more attention lately. Unfortunately this ning site and their ning site are not directly linked. (We have more flexibility on how we use our website that way.) I don't have time to pursue any classes, Heather, but I hope you do!
Hi Cindi! I am also interested in attending a ham radio course. I missed the one in November. My intention has to been to find out info on when the next one is, but as yet I have not. If you have info on any future trainings, could you let me know...better yet, let us all know through an event posting....Maybe some of us who are interested could even carpool to one in Skagit or Island county....
And if you are interested in starting a discusion/forum, I would join in the dialogue with you.
I appreciate your committment & vision Cindi. Thanks for writing up the notes/experience from Training for Transition Vancouver.
Re the Tenative Whatcom Training for Transition - those January dates won't work for me, although possibly June or autumn 2010 might, so I clicked 'might attend' to show my support, of 'attending in spirit'. (Your events page did not allow any comments).
I hope the January dates work for others and your momentum keeps rolling.
Cindi,
Thanks for letting me know about the South Hill meeting. I will pass the word along to people that may be interested. I will not be able to attend but keep me in the loop. I have a lot on my plate right now....baby #2 on the way in January. Talk to you soon.
Cindi, good to hear from you. I have always thought we could do better at identifying our neighborhoods. I could put some time in on updating neighborhoods, however we're on dialup and everything takes a loooong time. If someone figures out how we can do this, have him/her call me. Judith
Hey Cindi!
Life is crazy.. I am in Portland with my daughter right now, working tomorrow in Pinot Noir country on a biodynamic project in a vineyard, then on to some farmscaping and meetings with OSU and others... Big halloween weekend ahead in Eugene... should be well worth all the costume building.
Tee hee. Sorry for such a short note- I was just wondering
are you going to the Snonomish Focus on Farming Conf next week or Tilth in Yakima?
Ali
Hey Cindi! I am so grateful to have you here sharing your clarity & vision!
I just sent you an email to reply to your question re the art expression groups & events.
Hi Cindi,
I was noticing your post regarding your vision for rebuilding NW Free U -- and it just so happens that I came up with same idea for Center for Local Self-Reliance! After the success of the auction last month, I was thinking about other ways CLSR could raise funds and serve its purpose as a community resource for self-reliance skills. I wrote a proposal to the Board to canvass our supporters for what types of classes they'd like to see offered in this community, then I was going to start lists on teachers, speakers, authors, experts to teach workshops, classes and lead activities. Sounds like if we both realize our goals, we'll be in competition with one-another. You can email me directly at artiseverywhere at yahoo dot com if you want to have a dialog about this!
BTW: Thanks so much for your donation to our auction!
Hi Cindi, Ron here.
Yes, we know Dan Steelquist. Dan is one of the instructors in our sailing school.
You are welcome and invited to come visit The Circle of Trees Homestead at any time.
Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I spend very little time on the computer. Our phone # is 360-332-8082.
Cheers,
Ron
