The gallery walk for January is on January 1st. I believe from 6-9pm.

At the Center for Expressive Arts and Experiential Education we hold events as well as display local artists work. This Nov 6th we are going to have a Poetry Night that will be podcast on the Poetrynight website. It is a family friendly event.
For our Dec show we are having Brickhouse Studio do a stencil workshop as well as displaying his work.
The Center may be able to host the event you guys are planning. We are hosting the actaul seedswap on January 31st. You can find pictures of the space in my photo album on this site. There is also information about the poetry night in Nov on the events page. Feel free to check it out.

Once you get a date, time, place and description of the Transition Art Show (better name coming??) - let TW know directly so we can include it in our eblast. Also, perhaps Allied Arts might be great to work with on this. Kate knows some folks there :-)

Yea for the creative expressions of artists!

Morgan, along with visual artists, I would enjoy welcoming artists who work in mediums of sound, words, movement,....We may have poets - musicians - dancers - theatre - pottery folks who might want to play together. . . . .I wonder when the next gallery walks are scheduled for, especially in January . . . I am here listening & learning your visions . . . . I look forward to walking into Alborz's Bloom cafe & breathing deep the fragrant space . . .
I'll reconnect with Brian & Chrystine of Uprising Organics Seeds about their availability for Jan 16th in this emerging dance of co-creation. . . . Visioning & Saving Gaia's Seeds. . . .
Would you like to invite Heart & Soul folks to come play?

May All Gaia Inspired Transition Expression Salish Sea folks come out & play with us!

Hey Kate,
Of coarse! Your help is gladly and joyfully welcomed. So far here's what we got... The event is most likely going to be on January 16th at Bloom. This is tentative so far though...nothing in the books. Heather and I are working on blending the art show opening with the pre-seedswap event. The pre seed swap event is mostly going to consist of a couple of speakers and promotion of the actaul seedswap which is going to be on, as of now and still sudject to chage, January 31st. Is there anything in particular you would really like to help with? How would you like to contribute? What would be really helpful for me is creating an organized system of contacting artists with a variety of media, such as knitters, painters, photographers, sculptors. I would like to create a brochure of what our intentions are and what we are aiming to create in result of this event to give to the artists. I would like to advertise to artists whom are a part of TW and/or who are expressive and supportive of what TW stands for and displays these qualities in their work. Do you feel these are good guidelines to go by? I would appreciate your feedback. Hope you are well Kate.

P.S. If I am remembering correctly, you just live right up the hill from me on Yew st. (I'm at 911 Yew st.). Perhaps we could meet for tea at one of our homes and talk about this event, and perhaps even talk about the transition Samish which we seem to be zoned in to. I'd like to get more going with that. Perhaps establish a monthly meeting/potluck.

David,
I checked out your website. AWESOME.
I am wondering if you would be interested in being one of the artists in the transition art show I am brainstorming.
Perhaps you may even be interested in helping me to organize it.
And perhaps you might have some work to show as well Avielle? Please let me know.

Photoshop is quite the program, and I really like what some people can do with it (including your stuff), but as for myself, I keep editing to a total minimum. I like how we went right to having both ends of the spectrum on here.

Here are a few older ones of mine. The others that I've posted have been from the last two weeks.

Thank you
I used photoshop for these. I'm just learning how to use it.

The fire photo is amazing, seeing the trails of the sparks. What an awesome idea.
And Avielle,
What is the process you go through to create your photos in the form you posted them? I am curious? Is it mostly photoshop? I'm complimenting the lips and the background of the bottom photo you posted. It is so inspiring for me to be able to scroll down the page and see our art all mixed in with itself.
