Natural Garden-Farmers!  Mark your calendars and join Larry Korn, Tuesday August 14th for two events.   Larry Korn is a natural farmer, permaculture educator, and editor/translato rof “One Straw Revolution” (1978),  and of  Masanobu Fukuoka's  new book “Sowing Seeds in the Desert”.  Larry now lives near Ashland, Oregon, and will join Farmer Brian for “Natural Farming Observations at Inspiration Farm” from 1-4pm Tuesday.   Event details: http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/events/natural-farming-observatio...

Join Larry also Tues evening when he will speaks at Village Books at 7pm- http://www.villagebooks.com/village-books-larry-korn-08/14/12 .

In Masanobu Fukuoka's newest book,  Sowing Seeds in the Desert, the earth is in great peril. Our global trauma, however, can be remedied, but only when we change our methods of earth stewardship, and the very way we think about the relationship between humans and nature... This revolutionary book presents Fukuoka's plan to rehabilitate the world’s deserts and achieve global food security by using natural farming, including practical solutions for feeding a growing human population and providing a deep and renewed understanding of the relationship between human beings and nature.”

The Food Bank Farm could use more volunteers this summer! We grow organic vegetables for local food banks, and volunteering here is really fun, plus you learn a lot about gardening/ farming, and can take home fresh produce! If interested, contact Max Morange: glean@bellinghamfoodbank.org.

Does anyone have a Scarlet Monkey flower and/or Yellow Monkey flower plant they would like to divide? I'm planting a bird and bee garden in a wet mostly shady area. Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!
