Tracy, The car mechanic has not signed up to Fourth Corner Exchange yet, and I don't know his name. He said he planned on joining. Perhaps his name is on the list that was collected by Transition Whatcom? I don't have any contact info for him. Sorry.

Hi All! I'm a long time supportor of both alternative currancy being used, and a gifting culture of economy.....I'm also one of the original members of our local/globel "life-dollar" currancy through fourthcornerexchange.com. Thanks Meredith for the invite to this group, even though I was not able to sit in on the Open Space day of the Great Unleashing, I was there in spirit!
For now, my focus is in the garden, and working towards our eco-social-evolution for bio-remediation!

Hi, a little off topic....but I was hoping someone remembered the gentleman who joined our group at the Great Unleashing who said he was a member of 4th corner and a car mechanic. I've searched 4th corner for him, but can't find him! Mercury is in Retrograde and our van is suffering ;( Thanks!!!

Some of the best articles written about alternatives to the mainstream money system are in the Spring 1997 issue of YES! magazine. I have a copy, and they have reproduced them on their website here: http://www.yesmagazine.org/2Money/Yes2TOC.html. But I usually recommend people watch 'Money As Debt' first http://www.moneyasdebt.net/, because without clearly understanding what is wrong with traditional money, you will not necessarily get why people are going to great lengths to develop healthy alternatives.

Different article - this one actually is a quicker read with good links...the one below adds the environment to the economic equation.

Here is a good article about local currencies, citing some good examples. The # of local currencies was once 100 in th 90s has exploded to over 4,000 internationally today!

I am excited for this group and think that critical mass thinking can help business see the positive results of membership. I look forward to our discussion tonight!

I have to send my regrets for Wed. I would love to be there but have my monthly Mayor's Neighborhood Advisory Council meeting at which I represent the Columbia Neighborhood. I'll let everyone know who successful The Great Unleashing was and how many neighborhoods now have a T.I.! :-) Let me know when the next meeting is. I can have one out in my yard in the summer, but the house isn't very big.

Thanks, all. I was the one who suggested Evolution and I like it better... or even something like Economic Creation or Invention! Revolution is about overthrowing, pushing up against the old, etc. which just zaps our energy. What we are FOR strengthens us and what we are against weakens us - ancient, Universal, metaphysical law. So, we are FOR an Economy that works for everyone! How about Win/Win/Win Economy?? Wins for the individiual, the community and the Planet! :-)
