SUMMARY:Winter Wild Crafting w/ Michael Pilarski Jan. 23rd
DESCRIPTION:At both workshops we will do hands-on wildcrafting of a nu
 mber of medicinal plants. Devil’s club root and rootbark, oregon-gra
 pe root, cottonwood buds, usnea lichen, lungwort lichen, teasel root, 
 dandelion root and licorice-fern are some of the things we will be loo
 king for. We will discuss other medicinal and useful plants we come ac
 ross. Both sites have meadows, riparian zones and forests to explore.\
 n\nThe information is applicable to western Washington in general, par
 ticularly the wet forests on the west side of the North Cascades. We w
 ill do wildcrafting and processing, as well as talk about sustainabili
 ty, ecology, ethics, etc. Mostly we will work and learn out in the wil
 d.\n\nCome prepared for the weather. Bring warm gear, raingear, work g
 loves, collecting bags and hand pruners.\n\nMichael is a farmer, wildc
 rafter, author & educator practicing in northwest and north-central Wa
 shington for nearly 15 years. He is one of Washington’s most knowled
 geable people on the topic of sustainable wildrafting.\n\n$75 per stud
