SUMMARY:\"Walking Whatcom Waters\" Planning Event at The River Farm
DESCRIPTION:Regenerate Whatcom, in conjunction with others in our comm
unity, is planning a series of events called Walking Whatcom Waters.
\r\nThese events are envisioned to be feet-on-the-ground \"design imme
rsions\" that will assist us in our work of regenerating our bioregion
. \r\n\r\nWe've held several online discussions with a core team, and
now our first \"feet on the ground\" planning session is scheduled fo
 r July 27th, from 3 to 7pm (including a potluck dinner). We're gearing
up to hold a bigger public event, possibly in late August. \r\nOur t
ime at The River Farm will include walking the land and water with ste
ward and artist Bruce Myers, brainstorming possible topics and activit
ies to include in the public event, fostering connections, and learnin
g a bit about Bruce's vision using his \"Clay, Nest, Web\" model, with
comments and reflections led by permaculture and water expert Brian K
erkvliet, of Inspiration Farm.   Care to attend this planning session
and help us put on the August event, or others? Please let us know of
your interest by sending an RSVP email to whatcom@regeneratecascadia.
org.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis series intends to address some or all of the
 following topics:\r\n\r\nBasic water dynamics education\r\nIndigenous
perspectives on water\r\nWater’s role in climate change\r\nThe Water
Adjudication process currently facing county residents, tribes, and f
arms\r\nWater issues at River Farm and other locations we'll be visiti
ng\r\nHow River Farm specifically is thinking about and approaching wa
ter rights issues\r\nHow water stewardship dovetails with forest manag
ement etc.\r\nProvide a bridge between water rights issues and broader
systems thinking and interventions\r\nPosition water education as a f
oundation for  abilities to navigate the broader processes of regener
ating our bioregion\r\n\n\nFor more information visit https://transiti
