 th Annual Sustainable Samish Garden Tour! Meet, network, and gain tip
 s from Samish watershed residents who are working to cultivate a healt
 hy, resilient, and vibrant community…one garden at a time!  Experie
 nce five inspiring gardens, including two small acreage farms, on this
  FREE, friendly-to-all-ages, open house style garden tour, that featur
 es a mix of fresh food production, bountiful blooms, healthy living, a
 nd environmental and community responsibility – for wildlife, plants
 , water, people, and the whole Earth!  Pick up a wealth of gardening 
 tips on how to grow healthy plants, including vegetables, flowers, orc
 hards, fruits and herbs; create a backyard sanctuary for wildlife and 
 pollinators; establish a native plant landscape or hedgerow; and how t
 o apply conservation practices for healthier livestock and streams. Le
 arn about permaculture, organic farming, crop rotation, drip irrigatio
 n systems, water conservation techniques, high tunnel greenhouses, rai
 sed bed gardening, runoff management, weed management, and much more! 
 Homeowners will be available during the tour to share their gardening 
 experiences with you.  Resources will also be available with ideas fo
 r your own yard or garden. \n \nThe event is FREE and will be held f
 rom 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday, July 31st, 2016.  Maps and directions t
 o each of the featured gardens on this self-guided tour will be availa
 ble between 10:30 am and 2 pm at the Alger Community Hall, located at
