SUMMARY:Slow Tools: Featured Farmers and Their Systems
DESCRIPTION:Cloud Mountain Farm Center, a local non-profit agricultura
 l education center, will host the first in a series of â€śSlow Toolsâ€
 ť sessions as part of its 2016 Farmer Speaker Series on May 19th. This
  first session features Mike Finger of Cedarville Farm. Mike will disc
 uss some of the key tools he uses in his cropping systems and will tal
 k through his process of developing and sourcing tools which work well
  for his crops, site and labor management. Attendees can expect a stim
 ulating discussion of appropriate technology, scale, and creative solu
 tions on the farm.Â \nMike Finger owns and operates the longest-runnin
 g CSA in Whatcom County with most of his mixed vegetables, small fruit
 s, and poultry grown on 7 acres.Â  He has experience with horse-drawn 
 equipment as well as hand-scale farming. He now largely uses a few sma
 ll cultivating tractors for the majority of his farmâ€™s work.\nÂ \nTh
 is free workshop on May 19th from 4pm to 6pm is hosted by Cloud Mounta
 in Farm Center at the Centerâ€™s Lawrence Road Farm at 5979 Lawrence R
 oad at the intersection of Siper Road in Everson. Registration is not
