SUMMARY:RE Sources Brings Bill McKibben to Bellingham
DESCRIPTION:RE Sources for Sustainable Communities will host an event 
 on Tuesday, May 31st at the Fairhaven Village Green featuring New York
  Times bestselling author and 350.org founder, Bill McKibben.  The ev
 ent starts at 5 pm, with a concert by local favorites Millie and the M
 entshn.  Bill will begin his talk on coal, climate change, and activi
 sm at 7 pm.  There will also be an information fair from 5pm-9pm, whi
 ch will feature local organizations (including Transition Whatcom and 
 its 350.org work group) working to prevent climate change and coal exp
 orts from Cherry Point. The event is free and open to the general publ
 ic.\n \nMr. McKibben’s visit was catalyzed by the coal terminal deb
 ate raging in Washington.   In particular, plans to ship coal from C
 herry Point in Ferndale, Washington which could negatively impact the 
 County’s economic prospects, diminish quality of life, and destroy a
 n already vulnerable food chain in addition to the national and global
