 mber 18 at the Mount Baker Theatre. The documentary’s prime time sho
 wing is the following Friday, November 26 at 7 p.m. on KCTS, Channel 9
 .\n\n\"This documentary highlights Bellingham as a leader in innovativ
 e and creative sustainable strategies,” Mayor Dan Pike says. “Bran
 caccio’s team has surely discovered what Bellinghamsters have known 
 for a long time - that we are a community that values a sustainable ap
 proach to problem solving.\"\n\nIn “Fixing the Future,” Brancaccio
  features many local, innovative Whatcom County businesses, highlighti
 ng the sustainable fishers at Lummi Island Wild, creative innkeepers a
 t Willows Inn, local oven manufacturers at Woodstone and hybrid vehicl
 e gurus at Western Washington University.\n\n“Bellingham is kind of 
 the gold standard for sustainable, local businesses,” Brancaccio say
 s. “It seems like people here get what it’s about.”\n\n\"Belling
 ham/Whatcom County’s local small businesses deserve this important n
 ational recognition for their leadership, innovation and stewardship,
  said Derek Long, executive director of Sustainable Connections. “
 With continued effective local government and educational partnerships
 , as well as the support of locally vested citizens, these businesses 
 will continue to transform our economy for the benefit of us all.”\n
 \nA reception from 5:00-5:45 p.m. in the Encore Room will feature refr
 eshments from local businesses: Boundary Bay, The Willows Inn and Old 
 World Deli. Introductions and the documentary showing kick off at 5:45
  p.m. in the Walton Theatre.\n\nBe sure to get there early as seating
