 ide practical ways to design your environment into an integrated syste
 m of abundance and productivity. Using design strategies, we will expl
 ore ways of stacking elements within a system to be more productive an
 d self regulating. The morning will be class presentations and discuss
 ion; the afternoon will be a site tour and hands-on session working wi
 th guilds, sheet mulch and integrated composting and animal systems.\n

 n accomplished glass artist and certified Permaculture Designer, Brian
  Kerkvliet has co-stewarded Inspiration Farm, a 12 acre homestead styl
 e farm located North of Bellingham, since 1995. Inspiration Farm is ho
 me to a diverse ecosystem of critters & plants that Incorporates perma
 culture, biodynamic beyond organic practices in relation to regenerati
 ve design for annual & perennial food webs, animal husbandry, integrat
 ed systems and land/water management.  Brian has maintained a grass-b
 ased integrated farm that includes livestock, and lawns and paths with
  a scythe for the past three years without the need for a gas powered 
 mower or weed eater. He has studied the finer points of scything with 
 Alexander Vido, a master in scything techniques, who runs www.scythewo
 rks.com. As a designer at Inspiration Farm he deals with maintaining a
  mixture of older orchard trees while planting a secession of food for
 est trees, shrubs, medicinal herbs, flowers, fiber, forage and fungi.\
