 pes. Participants can visit local homes utilizing the latest innovati
 ons in green design, reclaimed materials, renewable/solar energy, pass
 ive solar construction, rainwater harvesting, permaculture and low mai
 ntenance landscapes.\nDon't miss stop #2, Barking Fig Urban Farm! The 
 home of Joy Patterson & Paul Kuepfer focuses on landscape and food pro
 duction right in the middle of the Birchwood neighborhood. They aim to
  grow as much food as possible with the condition that their yard stil
 l be aesthetically pleasing. They've partnered with Transition Whatcom
 , ReStore and WWU students to help our community become resilient in g
