SUMMARY:Connelly Creek Co-Housing Open House
DESCRIPTION:Connelly Creek Co-Housing is a new vibrant collaborative c
ommunity located in the Happy Valley neighborhood of Bellingham Washin
gton.  With a firm conviction that a pocket community is not only sup
portive to its members but also a living part of it's natural surround
ings, Connelly Creek will not be developed at nature's expense.  From
the ground up, Connelly Creek is committed to the principles of envir
onmental sustainability with uncompromising green benchmarks in the ar
eas of low impact site development, energy, water use, & deep green ma
terials.  The passive solar homes will have a small foot-print, with
healthy living environments utilizing low maintenance and durable mate
rials.  The sites and homes will have a sense of privacy while having
a connection to the greater community.  The existing farmhouse will
have space for large gatherings, feasts and overnight guests   Commit
ted to the concept of urban agriculture as one of the hallmarks of a r
esilient community, Connelly Creek  will provide space for food-produ
ction and also has resident llamas who contribute both delight and gre
at compost for the gardens.  In addition to the existing farm house,
there will be a total of 11 home sites at Connelly Creek which have ho
me designs ready or can be custom built to suit.  Each site is approx
imately 3000 square feet with the remaining acreage held in common.
Connelly Creek Co-Housing meets the principles  of New Urbanism inclu
ding walkability and connectivity with this great location being withi
n a 1 mile distance to all amenities.  Backing up to Connelly Creek P
ark provides a nature buffer and access to trails for walking and biki
ng.  Connelly Creek Co-Housing will speak to those who are interested
in living a green, low impact lifestyle in a resilient multi-age comm
unity of like minded people.\n\nCome explore this proposed new co-hous
ing community. We'll be meeting at Millworks Co-Housing  for question
s and answer prior to touring the new site and farm house just down th
 e street.\n\nFor more information visit https://transitionwhatcom.ning
