DESCRIPTION:WHAT IS THIS? WHO IS THIS FOR?The Whatcom Action Patrol, a
 long with other local feminist folks are organizing a two-day workshop
  aimed at confronting patriarchy and other systems of oppression withi
 n our community. ALL ARE WELCOME! We'll work toward developing a colle
 ctive understanding of oppression, provide space for community buildin
 g, and develop tools and skills that we can all use to better support 
 each other and fight patriarchy!WHAT IS PATRIARCHY? WHY FIGHT IT?Patri
 archy is a system of domination which privileges masculinity and enfor
 ces strict, exclusive, and unequal gender roles, and which interlocks 
 with racism, homophobia, transphobia, able-ism, and other forms of opp
 ression. Patriarchy affects people of all genders. Therefore, as a com
 munity, we must work to see beyond dualities, dismantle hierarchies, a
 nd engage in multi-issue organizing to create radical and liberating c
 hange for ourselves and our culture. Patriarchy and oppression pervade
  our minds, our relationships, our environment, and virtually every as
 pect of our lives. With this workshop we hope to provide information, 
 support, training, and healing surrounding all forms of oppression.ALL
  OF THIS IS FREE, but please bring some cash to donate if you can affo
