DESCRIPTION:A Transition Whatcom Event!\n\nThe local 10-10-10 event be
 gins at 9 a.m. on the steps of Bellingham City Hall. Live music, info 
 booths and speakers get us started, with Bellingham Mayor Dan Pike pla
 nting our first tree in the Bellingham Public Library grounds at 10:10
  a.m. Then we load up bike trailers with our assembled plants and head
  to the schools to plant the new additions to the school gardens. Brin
 g your energy and enthusiasm, and a shovel if you can!\n\nWe will be p
 lanting at Alderwood, Birchwood, Roosevelt and Parkview Elementary Sch
 ools, Shuksan and Fairhaven Middle School, Squalicum High School – a
 ll in the Bellingham School District plus Beach Elementary School (Lum
 mi Island) and the Lummi Nation School.\n\nWe still need bike trailer 
 folks to transport the plants from City Hall to the schools, Planters 
 at each school, and help with staging the Kick-off event.\nThe day bef
 ore (Saturday) we need a pick-up brigade to transport donated compost
