Transition Whatcom

We are looking for a Shared Land opportunity. We are relocating to Whatcom County (from MI & Canada) & are looking to share in the work to grow our own food & food for others if there's surplus.

We are bringing with us, a 24 1/2ft travel trailer for our accommodation, a host of skills in many areas & a desire to learn/teach/live a simpler life. Oh, there's a 12lb dog with us too.

One of us is a massage therapist, the other, a Jill of all trades. We're looking to make practical contributions to living much more sustainably & to fostering friendships with like-minded folks. While we are new to the area, we have local friends who will tell you that we're good, honest people.

We need a fairly level, firm spot to park the trailer, access to fresh water &, at least in the beginning, shore power.

Please message us if you're curious, think you might be interested or know someone else who might be.

Hi Lauri -  I know nothing about this offer, just happened to see it on Craig's list yesterday.  You might want to check with them.

HI Lauri,  Fellow Canadian though I came over the border 25 years ago!

We have acreage on Lummi Shore Road and though we are nuts about organic foods especially veggies, I am the one who would garden and am not good at it besides being far too busy with my work.   I would love to have some  people garden here, share some of the vegetables and fruit (we have a number of apple, plum and pear trees.

It would be a good idea to meet and chat about possibilities and interests in your gardening here.  Spring is almost upon us..thank heaven.  ANd I believe my partner and I wouldn't mind your trailer.  We would have to find out if it would work here.

Let me know if you would like to meet us.

Thanks Sharon. Yes, I had seen it also & it might be worth checking out. I am in touch with someone else right now that I think has a great situation & will wait to see how that goes.

Hi Lauri, If you are still looking for a "Shared Land Opportunity" let me know!

I'm a long time garden-farmer and permaculturist.  We have land that we have shared and done exchanges with people before.

Let me know when you move down to Whatcom, or leave me a message if you are looking for a place to put your trailor on land.

You can leave your email and message via my comment section on our TW page at: http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/profile/HeatherK
