Yikes! Monsanto now needs to add additional poisons to corn and soybeans due to the roundup resistant weeds. Public comment period ends Friday - please act today!!! The following is from the EPA

EPA Extends Comment Period on Proposed Decision to Register Enlist Duo Herbicide Containing the Choline Salt of 2,4-D and Glyphosate

In response to requests, the EPA is extending for an additional 30 days the public comment period on the proposed regulatory decision to register Enlist Duo containing glyphosate and the choline salt of 2,4-D for use in controlling weeds in corn and soybeans genetically engineered (GE) to tolerate 2,4-D. Public comments on the Agency’s proposed regulatory decision must be submitted no later than June 30, 2014. Comments may be submitted to the EPA docket EPA-HQ-OPP-2014-0195 at www.regulations.gov.

Weeds are becoming increasingly resistant to glyphosate-based herbicides and are posing a problem for farmers. If finalized, this action would provide an additional tool to reduce the spread of glyphosate resistant weeds. To ensure that Enlist Duo successfully manages weed resistance problems, the proposal would impose requirements on the manufacturer including robust monitoring and reporting to EPA, grower education and remediation and would allow EPA to take swift action to impose additional restrictions on the manufacturer and the use of the pesticide if resistance develops.

EPA made this action available for public comment because the choline salt of 2,4-D, which is less prone to drift and volatilization than its other forms, is not currently registered for these uses. Glyphosate, however, is already registered for several varieties of GE soybeans and corn. Since no new use pattern and no new exposures for glyphosate are being considered with this registration action, no further assessment is needed for glyphosate.

Questions and Answers about this proposal are available at: http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/factsheets/2-4-d-glyphosate.html.

From Stephanie Gray:
Friends,
We have the opportunity to stop the taxpayer funded spraying of Monsanto's Roundup on the county roadways done by the Public Works Dept each year.  This practice is not only contaminating our air and soil but because it's being sprayed next to runoff ditches and creeks makes it into our water supply. The EPA seems to think it's okay to poison us up to a certain level and so the Public Works Dept says they are following guidelines but as we know it is not okay - especially when we citizens are paying for it.
Ken Mann and Barbara Brenner of the Whatcom County Council have acknowledged my concern and are holding a committee meeting with the Public Works Dept. on June 3 at the County Courthouse, 311 Grand Ave at 1:30. It is being held in the Council Chambers. Please attend if possible to show support and I will request that we be able to make comments but don't know if that is possible yet.
If this issue is a concern to you please rally your troops and show up Tuesday.
Thanks to you all!
Stephanie

Monsanto has patented a genetically engineered seed that will germinate despite the changes in Ph caused by chemtrails which are making the soil too alkaline (via billions of pounds of aluminum oxide). Please view Monsanto's chemtrail patents here: http://farmwars.info/?p=7760

I am organizing a Chemtrail Awareness Day to be held in Bellingham, and could use some help to do this organizing. Please view the documentary films "What in the World Are They Spraying?" and "Why in the World Are They Spraying?" which you can see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf0khstYDLA  and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEfJO0-cTis  Please view this youtube of the Chemtrail Awareness Day held in Mt.Shasta CA, I am in touch with the organizers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2vNwv4nylU

This is worth watching on Democracy NOW! Additional interviews with Michael Pollan: California’s Prop 37 Fight to Label GMOs Could Galvanize Growing U.S. Food Movement

http://www.democracynow.org/2012/10/24/food_fight_debating_prop_37_...

On Election Day, California voters will decide on Proposition 37, which would make their state the first in the nation to require the labeling of food products containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The California Department of Public Health would be responsible for labeling everything from baby formula and instant coffee, to granola, canned soups and soy milk. Many major corporations, including Monsanto, Dow Chemical, Pepsi and Coke, are spending millions fighting the measure, which stands to impact labeling practices across the country. We host a debate on Prop 37 with two guests: Stacy Malkan, a longtime advocate for environmental health and spokesperson for the Yes on 37 California Right to Know campaign, and David Zilberman, professor of agricultural and resource economics at University of California, Berkeley, and director of the Center for Sustainable Resource Development. At Terra Organica we got in 70 copies of the movie Genetic Roulette.  We sell them for $19.99, but if you return the movie to us we'll give you $20 in store credit so you can pretty much watch it for free.  My goal is to get as many people as possible to see the movie - it is quite well done and very informative.  I watched it for the second time over the weekend and can't recommend it enough.  We're working on getting Terra Organica, Trapeze and Seven Loaves Pizzeria all GMO-free.  That's quite a task but worth it I think.  Here's a link to the movie trailer:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vv96D_ZURzs
