Event Description

"The Story of Stuff"
a film with Annie Leonard

Tuesday, November 17th
7:00pm
Free
@ ReSOURCES upstairs classroom
Meridian St.

In preparation for the holidays, RE Sources wants opens the discussion about "stuff." Join us for a short movie, "The Story of Stuff" and stay for a panel discussion with local experts who work directly with the issues that our stuff presents to ourselves and our community.

Special guests include Carolyn Koehnline who teaches clutter-related classes with psychological insight, North Sound Baykeeper Wendy Steffensen to talk about household toxins, and a representative from the Alternative Giving Fair to introduce a new gift-giving approach this season.

"The Story of Stuff" is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns. "The Story of Stuff" exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world. It'll teach you something, it'll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.
