Event Description
The Sustainable Connections’ Food & Farming Program hosts a “meet the next generation farmer mixer” and final cut of the film, “The Greenhorns” on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30 pm at The Pickford Film Center. The event is a fundraiser for the Food To Bank On, a beginning farmer business training project that helps connect farms in their 1-3 years with the resources they need to have viable businesses. A lively panel discussion with local farmers and refreshments reception will follow. Cost = normal movie ticket, $7 students, $9.50 adults

Hi Chris -- Ideally both! We are bringing together many folks from the community of beginning farmers here as well as the people who support them and care about the future of farming in Whatcom County. I think it will be a great event --Please come if you can! Also -- you might consider applying to be a part of our Food To Bank On program for next year. We provide business training, mentorship resources and new markets for beginning farmers in their first 1-3 years.

Hi Sara! Who is this event geared toward-- mostly new farmers, or people who want to donate to support them? I am looking at starting my own small farm next season and am interested in learning more and meeting others if that is what this is about. Thanks!!
