Event Description

Join RE Sources at the Pickford Film Center for a special presentation of the film FREEDOM on Thursday, August 4th, 7pm. Tickets are $10.

FREEDOM is from the filmmakers of the Sundance Award-winning film FUEL. In the aftermath of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill; filmmakers Jock Tickell and Rebecca Tickell took an international journey to investigate alternatives to fossil fuels.

The film offers an array of green solutions. From advanced biofuels to plug in hybrids, we learn about the sustainable technologies that could fulfill our transportation needs. FREEDOM's insightful and inspirational interviews from former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, former NATO commander Wesley Clark, Singer/Songwrighter Jason Mraz, international author Deepak Chopra, and actors Michelle Rodreiguez, Amy Smart, and Ed Begley Jr.

FREEDOM invites people to not just get mad, but get motivated. Above all, FREEDOM calls for a revolution in how we live. Inevitably we must shift the types of houses and cities we live in, we must rethink the way we work and change the way we treat each other and the planet. Most importantly we much transform ourselves.

There will be a panel discussion hosted by RE Sources following the movie (panelists TBA - please check back), and RE Sources will have a booth set up before and after the film with information about our work and current happenings.

This should be a great event with a lively community discussion led by local panelists and the filmmakers. Bellingham is fortunate to be the first stop on the FREEDOM tour of (at least) 33 U.S. cities.

The FREEDOM BUS will also be there with its:
* 18 solar panels
* E85 biofuel engine and power generator
* Green construction including recycled tire, floor & LED lighting
* Energy efficiency, Advanced Fuels, Wind, Solar and Water Displays
* Touch Screens with on-demand green videos

Hope to see a lot of you there!
