Friday, July 9th, 6:30 - 9:00 pm at Presence Studio, 1412 Cornwall Ave. Bellingham (up the stairs above Bellingham Bar and Grill).
Admission: $10-$25 sliding scale, as a fundraiser for Earth Activist Training, and Transition Whatcom.

 
"In It for the Long Haul: Social Permaculture and Transition" - a presentation at Presence Studio by Starhawk and Bill Aal, with music by special guest Dana Lyons! The evening will be an interactive event exploring how we can sustain our selves, our relationships, community and the places we live for the long haul.

Starhawk is the author of eleven books, including The Spiral Dance, The Fifth Sacred Thing, The Earth Path and her latest, The Last Wild Witch, a picture book for children and winner of the Silver Nautilus award. Starhawk also teaches workshops in earth-based and feminist spirituality and courses in permaculture and regenerative design. www.earthactivisttraining.org. William Aal is deeply involved in social and environmental justice work with a particular focus on agricultural sustainability and social healing. Versed in opening the imagination, awakening people’s best thinking and inspiring group transformation, Aal works with group reflection to unleash collective genius in organizational settings. A former manager in the non-profit and information technology worlds, he co-founded Riseup.net to build computer-based communications networks for activists. Aal has developed accessible networking tools and trainings in social analysis and use of the web for community organizing, empowering individuals who traditionally have not had access to these tools.
