Cloud Mountain Farm Center, a local non-profit agricultural education center, kicks off it’s second annual Farmer Speaker Series on April 21st with a session on Water Access for Small Farmers. In partnership with WSU extension, CMFC is offering the opportunity to farmers to come listen and talk with experts from Department of Ecology, Associated Earth Science Inc., and RH2 Engineering speak on water rights and water access.

“Access to water can be problematic and rife with challenges for small farmers. We are excited to bring these three expert speakers to the Center to share their knowledge and experiences on this critical topic,” said Sean D’Agnolo, Education Manager at Cloud Mountain Farm Center.

Kasey Cykler from the Department of Ecology will cover topics such as a general background on water rights and water right changes, rainwater collection, Ground Water Permit Exempt Wells, and how to use the Department of Ecology’s Water Resources Explorer. Jim Bucknell of RH2 Engineering and Chuck Lindsey of Associated Earth Science Inc. will speak about their experiences working to help ag water users address a variety of water supply situations.

This free workshop on April 21st from 4pm to 6pm is hosted by Cloud Mountain Farm Center in collaboration with WSU Extension.
