I’d rather be talking about bio-char or terra prieta if you will. My wood stove allows me to control the air intake. Giving a lower supply of Oxygen is the goal in achieving pyralysis. At the end of the night I add a  stick of wood and reduce the…Continue

Radical Mycology Convergence:  Info on helping with the planning stages at: http://radicalmycology.wordpress.com/radical-mycology-convergence-2... .

Request to be put on their mailing list.  I heard great reports from last years convergence in Skagit county – which was held same weekend as Singing Alive gathering in September - this year they may aim for Oct/Nov dates, and a more southern location.

Last year I was quite surprised by the abundance of oyster mushrooms. I was also surprised by the shortness of the season, ( The prior year I was harvesting throughout the summer. Last year had a much smaller window.) I suspect it to be related to La Niña. So with round two upon us, I just wanted to put it out there to plan accordingly if you plan to harvest in the woods.

Congratulations to Scott McClendon on completing the Mycorestoration Seminar at Fungi Perfecti this weekend. Looking forward to the knowledge you share with T.W. on restoring damaged habitats with mycelium.

I'm finding lots of Oyster mushrooms in the woods. Mostly on dead Alders.

oh, and I just now saw JC's post just below mine, on the same topic. Well, good info regardless.
