Add me to your email list and let me know when you decide on date/time. Most of January is good for me, as would be mid March.

There is a seed-swap on Jan 30th sunday, that I'm part of...and possibly another weekend day may also result in another food & farm related event..but I don't have date yet on that. Thanks for your email!

I got your email, but am not sure how to respond - you can't respond to emails sent through TW. So I'm responding here, hope that works. I am interested in getting together to do some cultivation. Here's what I propose: That we do a workshop at your location in Deming, then one out here at Inspiration Farm. We've got a lot of mycelium going here, and would like to keep expanding it. We have fresh wood chips and some burlap bags. Can you propose a couple of dates, if the idea works for you? How about Jan. 15th and 22nd from 12 -4? Or Jan. 22nd and 29th? Hope this sounds like a good format to you, looking forward to it, Juliet

JC, Add me to your list of folks interested in attending a hands-on workshop to learn some of the basic cultivation methods, both outdoor methods & indoor lab methods!

I am registered for Paul Stamets seminar in May 2011 and I'd like to start learning now. I'd be interested in seeing what anyone local is doing with mushroom cultivation or who would just like to share with me what they are passionate about with regards to fungi.

This looks like a visual of part of your vision!
Is that The Paul Stamets in the video doing hands-on work on the farm?
Wonder where the funding came from for this project, and how many volunteers helped to make it happen, and within what timeframe.

Comment by Alex Winstead on September 7, 2010 at 10:18am: New trials conducted in Japan demonstrate that spent mushroom substrate from oyster mushrooms can degrade the pesticide DDT in contaminated soils by up to 80% in about a month. Check out the abstract here: www.tinyurl.com/oysterddt The spent substrate they used in these trials is a byproduct being produced by all farms that grow Oyster Mushrooms...

I had a great talk with Carbon Expert Rich Haard, whom most of you might know? Propagator extraordinare with 4th Corner Nursery. Anyhow, I am really happy to report that I ordered 80 lbs of activated charcoal tonight as a treatment for this Aminopyralid remediation work at the CLSR. Getting some helpful insights from people like Rich, Jed at Clearview Mushrooms, JC, and a dear consultant friend or two in OR letting me in on what people are doing there with the grass seed growers and residues from herbicides there. ~Alison
