I would love to help with the still project and business plan! I have made my own small scale still in the past out of pressure cookers and copper tubing fairly easily. I might even be able to get some of the welding done at my work.

Hey Marilyn- glad you got on the site! I have been thinking about your potential garden down there- I think we'll have fun getting that going. I wish I had a better answer for you as far as getting permission to put up a large multi-family windmill. If you are still not getting any answers let me know and we can put it out there and see if someone else knows more.

I know for me, before I look for energy to power what I need- I have to really figure out what I really need and what I don't! We have gradually been making our home more efficient and adding window covers, turning off heat in the rooms that we are not in. I put fabric up between rooms to just heat the one we are in. Next is an 'on demand' water heater to replace our regular tank style one- I think that will make a big difference. I'm working on my 13 year old son to turn off lights when he leaves a room but that is an ongoing challenge!

I want to contact Chris Muench and also Andy Day and Connie, so let me know when you find out which Sunday works best for our potluck.

Again- I'm so glad you came to the event the other day. I feel like I have one more good neighbor!

Welcome Marilyn! Good to meet you at our 'Walking the Walk' gathering.
Let us stay connected about bringing people together who are ready to learn how to use sustainable energy and who interested in building tools to power our transportion, heat our homes, and run our tools. I've met a few folks interested in bicycle power.
