I would love to be involved in the local economy group, and food processing is a great place to focus. We will be meeting next week and on the agenda is getting more businesses involved in the local currency. I'm interested to see where the discussion takes us and would like to continue chatting about the whole local economy...
Awesome! It's great to know that you & Rob are working together on the TW Film Series. He was so excited about it. I didn't get a chance to make it to the event - I wish I had. It's exciting to begin my journey with TW ... see you soon.
Hey Kate,
I didn't know I'd connect with people when I joined. What a nice surprise.
Yes, Renata is great. I'm enjoying getting to know her.
I'll be there parts of tomorrow. Out of town Sun.
:-)

Hi Kate, I'm not involved with Make.Shift. I attended their workshop last Sunday. They've got some great things going on, that's exciting to hear about the music next Saturday. My roommate and I are starting a bicycle delivery coffee roasting business. We're working towards powering all the electrical with the generator.
Hi Kate,
My boat is currently in Anacortes where I am living on it. Do you get out much?

Thanks so much for welcoming me! I also go by Cerri (pronounced "carrie") and I'm glad to be in the company of other thrift store divas. I'm also excited that you have chickens. I look forward to corresponding with you and the rest of TW!
Hi Kate- Yikes, the days are going by, mild and spring-like in the middle of winter- I'm not working out in the orchard and garden as I'd like, just working hard, and odd hours at that. I did make it to the seed swap though, and that was great. Missed the film you put on- I'm too busy! Could you meet at lunchtime ever? We could still talk about your business idea-
Mark
Kate,
If you have not gone by bloom, your piece is beautifully hanging. THank you for dropping it by. Hope you get a chance to check out and add to the dream room!
Thanks for touching base. Wow sometimes you have to travel half way around the world to find out what is in your backyard. Well Portland is not quite in the backyard but close enough to look into what is happening. I just dont get out much, just to much going on in this place of beauty. x-country skiing been great till the thaw other day, soI've been cutting next winters wood. Trees grow back here very very fast.
Did you know that Maine is the most heavily wooded state! I should be getting ready for sugaring soon. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Maple sugaring is all about
the right Wconditions at the time. Hope to stay in the loop with this contingent.

Hi Kate. No problem. It takes a lot of energy to organize an event, and I understand the low flow of energy near the end of such a venture. I think a TW Film week would be great! I'd love to talk further with you about various ideas using film as a medium to connect, inspire and educate. I just received the 2010 list of 32 documentaries that will make up the next film festival in Mission. Most of the films are not going to leave people clapping with joy, but rather provide a more realistic idea of the challenges we face and the ways that we can face them. I haven't heard of Collapse yet, but the title says a lot. I will look it up. I'm just on my way to N. California, but look forward to connecting further in the weeks and months to come. I had a great time at Walk the Walk.

I've heard you mention the Go Home and Garden idea, and am hoping to see it evolve. Where are you with that business plan?
See you soon,
Cameron
I'm sorry I didn't see your comment until today, Mon. I think the Sun event came off superbly, even without my help!
Next time....Lynne
