Heather,
I don't think the exact feature you're wanting for email notification is available, but you can control some of it, such as deciding not to receive email notifications when postings are made to the groups you belong in.

On your "my page" in the upper right corner, click on settings. Then click on Email in the upper right corner when that page opens, to select what emails you want to receive.

This link might take you to the same place:

Hi heather ~ October 15 the same date & time Mary Stanton & Brita Adkinson are going to be at Wise Awakening for their presentatino "the Magic of Findhorn" re fantastic organic farm in England. Mary Stanton and her partner started the farm in the 1960's & they grow vegies that are huge!! Totally sustainable, these folks are the real thing for the original back to the farm movement, been doing what we are all doing now for a long long time. I heard Mary speak about 3 or 4 years ago the last time they visited Bellingham. She would be a great speaker / workshop presenter for a TW event. So i think I will be at that event at 7 pm, but did want to hear David Allen Sibley speak again (I have had one of his birding workshops awhile back.)

Hi Heather ~
OK Wild Sky hike ~ we are going this Sunday oct. 11. Johnson ridge is about 7 miles RT, about 2200 ft elevation gain. It is supposed to be cold, but no rain, and clear. I don't race up the trails, since we will be looking for mushrooms and checking out the native plants. Maybe have some time to collect native seeds. Be sure to bring water, lunch, and dress for the weather (no sandals :) Also hiking poles are a good idea I have a few extra that I usually put in my vehicle to share. We will meet at 9 am at the Fairhaven Par & Ride, west side. I usually don't leave for about 10 -15 minutes so everyone can find it, and we can figure out who is driving (carpooling definitely.) I have a subaru forester, sage green, and can take one or two more riders.
i can be reached at 253-334-2157 cel phone to make sure we connect.
Hope to see you there on Sunday! Terese

Oh yes ~ Heather meant to let you know I am putting together a hike in the Wild Sky Wilderness ~ Johnson Ridge Scorpion Mountain trail. One of the fdw that is accessible in the Wild Sky, due to Index-Galena Raod washout. October 11 or 18, if the weather holds. We did this hike last year with a group of 8 and it was a blazing color crisp air fall hike, lots of wonderful mushrooms up there too! I also do wild foraging. I've led hikes and outings for the Sierra Club for 10 years now. So no worries, have all the essential Wilderness First Aid and backcountry training.
Would you want to go? Will meet Bellingham people at the Fairhaven ParknRide 9 am. Let me know!

Hi Heather,
As I've worked on issues with others on TW, we may have been at some of the same events in years past ~ I've been in Ferndale for 5 years now and work in Bham. I am also interested in working to bring Peter Donaldson's Citizens Stewardship Campaign & his community building performance called 'Salmonpeoples', to our area during the coming year. Yes NSEA would also be interested I'm sure, and maybe the local Sierra Club group (I am on the board.)
We are doing a lot of native wild seed and heirloom seed collecting between me, Larry Williams, Walter Haugen, and Richard.
Hope to meet you soon somewhere!
~ Terese

Oh Heather,
When I have read the last few notes you sent me I felt inspired and uplifted. I appreciate your mindfulness, gratitude and energy. You will be receiving a big warm hug from me on Thursday eve. My number is 360 510 7055. I am a bit bummed to hear you probably won't make the Monday night gathering, but I do know that regardless you will be there in spirit, in yours and in all of ours.

Thank you Heather - my stint with FCX will be ending shortly and I do know that I am here on this planet to lead in building community! Perhaps this is the right vehicle.

I think I know pretty well how to do it. I am just messing with my generator at this point. I actually found a bike for free today in the curb that I will use. I think I am set. Thanks for you offer, tho :)

Actually, the vacant house where I picked the pears has an overgrowing garden (mostly weeds, nothing planted this year), and along the fence is a long grapevine with many bunches of grapes. When I go back there again I will gather at least a few bunches.

I am not sure yet how I will interface the bike to the generator. I am taking the generator apart this weekend and will have a better idea soon.

Heather -
You can see the event on www.mountbakertheatre.com The time on sunday is 11 am to 8pm. Like I said, I will donate 2 tickets to Transition Whatcom. It would be nice if you brought a paying guest with you but if that is not possible I will still donate the ticket. Just send me your full name for the guest list and you can pick up the ticket at Will Call on the day of the event.

Yes, I think I can help you hook up a generator to a bike. I actually have one with a bad motor that I got for free that should work. I will take the generator apart and see if I can figure out how to hook it up and go from there. I would love to visit inspiration farm and take the plans further and check out the bike and figure out how to hook up the generator. I would bring my family too,

Hello Heather, I'm finally getting around to responding to e-mails after 2 weeks away from home, computer, and garden. A small group of people in the Lake Fazon area has gathered a few times, and our next one will be this coming Saturday, Sept. 5, 6pm at the Holcomb residence next to our house: 2332 East Hemmi Road. Lorraine H. will grill salmon, everyone should bring a potluck to share, and after eating we'll watch a peak oil video called "End of Suburbia," followed by discussion. You're invited to join us and hear what's going on in our area, as we try to make sure our little suburb(ia) does not end. Contrary to what you've heard, I don't want to be the contact person for this group - we'll talk about that issue at this upcoming gathering. I'm too old, ornery, and busy to do that much coordinating: been there, done that, and ain't pushing no more ropes! And besides, I plan never to progress beyond e-mail and google on our computer.

To get to the Holcomb residence, turn north at a large group of mailboxes on the north side of Hemmi about halfway between Mission and Everson-Goshen roads. This puts you on a gravel drive that serves several homes - theirs is the first left (west), just opposite a greenhouse and large squash garden on the right (ours). Hope you can make it.
cheers,
John

Thanks for the CLSR posting! Most of us are out of the computer loop except for email. We need to turn that around. Hope you're enjoying summer's excesses.

Thanks, Heather - I'd love to meet Sarah - since I don't know how to host a fundraiser on Ning, I'd love to learn that. Thanks so much for your continued support and for all the good work you do! Laura

Hello Heather Thanks for putting all this info up on this site! It's great.
Count me in on the event planning. It will be great to see everyone again. Lake swimming has been fantastic & now all the blackberries are ready so the journey has been fun.
