Making Masa & Tortillas from Scratch at Riverhaven Farm

November 17, 2013 from 2pm to 4pm
Empower yourself in this “field-to-table” workshop. Learn to prepare fresh masa the traditional way, using both wood ash and lime as we transform locally-grown organic grain corn into an important staple food. Advice on growing good tortilla corn will also be provided as we enjoy a sampling of tortillas hot off the grill with home-grown beans. $20 per person. bellingham herald, and I googled Whatcom granges. (Just saw Symphony of Soil at Hopewell Grange and got a newsletter. Wanted to know more about the Grange organizations.)
