Hi Nicola! Thanks for your comment & appreciations! I hope you'll share with us what you learn about caring for the hazelnut orchard, and the possibilaties of it evolving into an 'edible forest garden'. You might appreciate the books "Edible Forest Garden' for a resource on interplanting & maintaining...Its my favorite permi-geek book.
During the warmer weather, some of us help out at rolving garden-work parties where the host puts us to work & feeds us a meal. Jeff W. often organizes that through emails & phone calls, and you might consider having folks out to your place in the future for a work-party.
Remember to pass your email onto Shannon & request the local Garden E-News she sends out. There is so much happening locally, and not all of it gets posted as an event on this site.
