I educate folks about climate change and fossil fuels; I live a transition-friendly lifestyle (local diet and bike transportation); I organize socially-conscious events (e.g., ballot parties) as well as knowledge-sharing events (Nerd Nights!); I lead geology field trips, with the intention of helping people connect with our local landscapes;
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I want to learn the skills necessary for transition; I want to share my knowledge (geology, climate change) with people, to help them understand why a transition is necessary and inevitable; I care about making this world a better place, with less suffering and more community; I really care about community connections, this is what makes me feel good, and it is the answer to how we're all going to thrive in transition;
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
My expertise is geology, climate change, and in general making science fun and understandable for everyone (especially kids!); I am a decently accomplished fermenter (krauts, kombucha, beer, cider); I am deeply connected with a thriving community of young-ish (20s through 30s) Bellinghamsters, many of whom would like to be more involved in a Transition but don't know how or where to put their energy - I would love to get them involved too!
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?

I want to be connected to a community of people who are actively transitioning, I want to give to that community and learn from it.
