Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition?
Having just returned to Bellingham after a year in Hong Kong, I feel even more committed to reducing energy and material consumption and gaining skills that will allow our family to live a more self-reliant lifestyle. This includes getting more involved with my community.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Our family's life choices continue to emphasize conscious living. We live in a small energy-efficient house, share one vehicle, utilize public transportation, walk whenever possible, organic garden and raise chickens, support local producers, and keep our land wooded and natural.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
IMy great interest at the moment is learning more about NW gardening, particularly year-round gardening and permaculture. In my professional life, I am an editor and am happy to offer my skills in writing and editing to Transition Whatcom.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
On Marine Drive just north of the airport
Please note that you do not have to answer all of the above questions in order to join, and you can always come back later to edit your profile. If it's all too many questions for now, please provide a short answer below on why you'd like to join this site (or a summary of the above, if answered).
Our family is committed to increasing our engagement with our community and to learn more about self-reliant living.
