Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition?
I am at the fulminating stage: fulminating about how inappropriate our economic system is.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I've been involved in Whatcom County activism for 30 years, particularly in regard to population growth and its effects (because of high levels of consumption) on the environment. Most specifically, it troubles me that humans are aggrandizing for ourselves so much of what other living things need. Rick Dubrow introduced me to the Whatcom Transitions group.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I have skills: I was for 8 years on the Whatcom County Council, I was chairman of the board of directors of the Humane Society; president of the now-defunct Pro-Whatcom, and currently I'm president of the steering committee of Futurewise Whatcom.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Squalicum Lake Road
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I don't have any suggestions right now.
Please note that you do not have to answer all of the above questions in order to join, and you can always come back later to edit your profile. If it's all too many questions for now, please provide a short answer below on why you'd like to join this site (or a summary of the above, if answered).
I want to be aware of what's going on and see if I can help.

Hello Squalicum neighbor!  Your invited to network with your neighbors on our 'transition Northshore Squalicum Stewart Neighbors' group at - http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/northshoresqualicum

Let me know if you want to be on our email list.  This Sat, our Y Rd farming neighbor will be hosting a music & picnic at The Carrot & The Stick- http://thecarrotandstick.com/    I've sent an invite out to neighbors on our local transition group.

Welcome Dan- nice to see you on board. My guess is that with your experience and connection in the community you'll be a great asset for TW. I look forward to working with you!
