Personal Finance Workgroup

We agree that people and households that are financially secure are more resilient, and our community will be more resilient if its members are more financially secure.

Food Security Group

We will be supporting existing community and TW food security-oriented projects, organizations, and the local ag industry; assessing gaps and how to fill them; and starting a plan for dramatically increasing food security in the next 10-20 years.

Ann, Welcome to the Personal Finance workgroup.  You can tell by our discussions and comments, we started out with a lot of research and discussion and now we are into action.  We had a big "move your money" action day in the spring and now we are deep into a new local investing network.  We have an open and inclusive policy, no minimum investment and you don't have to invest at all if you want to learn.  We're adding members and studying our first business offering.  Read all about it at www.whatcominvesting.org.

If you have any particular interests, let us know and we can tell you if we any thing going on in those areas.

Welcome.  We hope to meet you.  Judith

Hi Ann! Good to meet you at the Kulshun CLT annual luncheon. You know I'm a fan of the work you do with KCLT!
I hope you'll consider connecting with some of the folks on this Transition site...we're all volunteers here....There is a new food security group starting up too.
I've sent you on a friend request, and once we connect I'll can send you an invite.
(Love your fb picture!)

Hi Ann, Welcome to the Transition Whatcom site! I love your photo, in such a lovely, lush garden. If you want to join our neighborhood gardening group, just click on the "Groups" tab, then "Franklin Park Gardening Club" and apply to become a member. Then I get to think about whether I want to approve you or not ;-)
