Here is another possible movie suggested by Cindi Landreth. Anyone see it already? Think it would be a good TW movie night possibility?

Warren,

I'm a big fan of Chris Jordan's website, which is worth checking out for its own sake.  I've used his images in presentations on waste and recycling in my workplace.  His artwork is powerful and tells an important story.

From Emily:
Here is a link to an amazing movie that is in production now. It is about the impact of plastic garbage in the Pacific on the albatrosses on Midway island. I saw clips from the film and was part of a conversation with the director, Chris Jordan, last summer. This is going to be a very powerful film about an unfolding tragedy that and the great beauty of life.

I don't know how close it is to being finished. Perhaps TW can be part of a premier showing.

Here is the link to Chris Jordan's site. From there are links to the Midway film site.

Film: “Farm for the Futurehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixx1c3RSw_8  covers garden-farming & forest-farming without dependence on fossil fuels, and preserving the soil & biodiversity with European prospective.

A film worth considering for a future 'Real Food Film Festival', and a TW film at the Pickford.

May our community grow more garden-farmers who are reducing oil-based fuels in their farming methods.  May we support the increase of human power, and focus on ecological stability that results  from biodiversity on our wildlands & farmlands.

Beautiful -inspiring & shocking film "Chasing Ice" http://www.chasingice.com/ returns to Pickford Theater- Fri Nov 16th through Tues Nov 20th!  Not to be missed!  One of the best films of the decade, with time-elapse scenes of ancient landscapes of glaciers & deep ice that have existed since our collective human memory- that have now melted into water & are releasing ancient air that was been frozen for millennium.  I've been inside deep blue ice crevasses and walked ancient glaciers as a mountain climber-  this film captures both the beauty & power of a rarely seen earth landscape, and shows  the visual truth of an immense geologic climate change that is happening right now in our lifetime.

Warren or David, would you consider reposting this film on our TW page, and promoting it on our home page?

HI Warren,

Fall and Spring are always great for gardening film times - a film that can help folks think about how to prep for this fall/winter/spring is a film called Back to Eden - www.backtoedenfilm.org - I saw it at this year's Permie Convergence and visited the garden as well!  Great film!  ~  Jamie Jedinak

It would be great to have some key themes related to the seasons and other key Transition Events that could be used to help 'guide' our movie selection schedule. For example, can we identify movies that would be cool to have as a lead-in to the next SkillShare Faire? When is the right time to do gardening oriented films?

Can you think of some good times for various themes? Let us know?
