A friend sent me this poem, it is very beautiful

DANCING IN THE RAIN
The rain, at first, came sweet and softly
As if to tease, as if to taunt me.
Light moisture perched upon my shoulder
Gave subtle call to damp and colder.

No jacket yet, no need for shoes
This region’s rain is common news.
Yet, with each drop, it grew in size
And as a blanket, cloaked the sky.

Like the pitter and patter of baby’s toes
It giggled down in rows and rows.
And steadily shower spigots came
It rained, it rained, it rained and rained.

Buckets full, the rain came down
Quenching thirst of parched Northwest ground.
I focused less on orange and red
Seeking jacket, for rain, instead.

Still it drips and drops it seems
From peaks on high, low-valley streams.
It collects on leaves, in dirt, in pools
It sees no boundaries; it knows no rules.

Rain’s song is loud, its lyrics, clear.
Rain’s presence—constant, important here.
This land, it breathes, because of rain.
The moment it goes, it comes again.

So think a moment before you shout,
“What is all this noise about?”
Learn to listen, beyond the racket.
Go outside into the sweet wet air.

ON THE EARTH WITHIN SPIRITS EMBRACE

"On The Earth my back lies down - Slowly
. . .with eyes straight up ahead
. . . ..seeing up deep through tree's glory
. . . . .to stars of wonder...stars of delight...

Body breathes in
. .soul fills with awe - fills with wonder
. . . - soul filling up with gratitude...
Body breathe out
. .soul releasing grief - guilt - fear -
. . .beyond worlds of pain...
Body breathes in deeper - fuller – life's Presence
. . ...as my heart – relaxes --
. . . .into Loves Embrace
. . . . .held by Earth-Garden-Spirit-Holy-

In This Moment
. . . I am blessed with life...
In This Moment
. . . I am ready to release
. . . . my earth-waterly-flesh -
. . . . . to return to Source - return to Mystery
. . . . . . .....that Birthed All. . .

I Soul Remember
. . . Earth's Eternal Spirit Life Is Now
. . . . Within Spirit's Embrace.... "

We live in a fascinating world where every place has a unique story to tell, the stories are billions of years long and we have only short lives to listen with.

How Lovely,
I am so enjoying seeing all these expressions and art on here. The last two poems shared were very real. Thank you both Kate and Terese, for posting these, for writing these, I feel not so alone in such feeling when I experience anothers expression of them.

Beautiful...I love the orange and blue together. Inspiring!

Thanks for your poem, Terese. Nice imagery. I never thought much of poetry until I had some in me that had to come out. Now I really enjoy it!

Here are a few seasonal shots from today:

The first two are pretty similar but I couldn't decide on one, so I just put both... I look up at trees into the branches very often and can't help but see art in them (some more than others, of course)

FOOLISH SPECIES

See the blazing big sky ~
A thing of beauty, of hidden danger
From modern-day dragons
Can’t we see?
No more, No more!!
More is not better!

See the vast seas ~
The deepest of blue, unmutable ~ unseen
Hidden danger of toxics
Bones of whales, bones of Cormorants~
What will we become~
Flotsam upon the seas?

Gone, gone little green ~
Like the dragons of old,
Like the glaciers~
Moving the tide of species down
Human and 4-leggeds
Where to go?
Nowhere to hide
See the stillness in the orchard & fields~
Hear no song of bee or bird ~ no hum
Species out of balance
These are desperate times for our Mother
Can we see or care?
Can there be a different story, a different ending?
What will we create?
Earth in the balance will survive ~
Will we?

The End of the Age of Oil

No time to prepare for what is coming.
No time to grieve for what is slipping away.
No words for the longing to wander alone,
To properly sorrow the lost years and mislaid hopes
Of a civilization that lost it’s way 100, 200 years ago.
There is money I must earn and bills to pay.
The beast is going down, yet we are already molded
To the narrow confines of expectations,
Responsibilities (called Opportunities) in the Age of Oil.

I rage against the cage around me…
Then exhausted I stand in the constraints,
Again obedient…
Only to bloody myself again against the bars,
Wailing silently at my helplessness.
I could clean the house for days and still not be finished.
