Rebecca - Only part time and in the past near Cornwall. See my personal page for deeper answer to "where do you live"...I'm a bit like a cross between a native bumble bee and a migrating bird...and very private about where I find space to rest on the earth...

Mark you calendars for May 12 in the late afternoon & evening.
A bicycling garden tour is being planned that will include a few gardens from both Columbia & Birchwood. (Basically at Jasmins and then potluck at Christie's on Cedarwood with possibly two other before theirs)'
This one may end up being a small fundraiser to purchase trees for the Center for Local Self-Reliance as we may have the gift of the presence of the editor of the book 'The One Straw Revolution" - Larry Korn.More details to come later through Shannon's E-news. Volunteer welcomed to help make this happen! Hugs!

I am all jazzed up about building a neighborhood community to share resources, experiences, excess veggies, recipes, labor/skills, materials, and of course, friendship!! When/where to have that first potluck??

I use my pressure canner all the time - it's a bit noisy but not scary at all!
Looking forward to hearing more about onions and eggs!

Regarding overabundance of apples - would anyone care to join me in making applesauce or apple pie filling? I took the master food preserver class several years back and lead canning parties every year.

Oh yes - I forgot to mention that soon we will be swimming in cilantro. It has naturalized in our gardens and is somewhat like a weed...a fragrant, tasty weed!!! I'll keep you all updated as to when it's available! I would like a few of those onions when they come available, by the way.

Though it pales in comparison to Jasmin's, our garden has been on a bike-garden tour before... How about those two neighbors on North street near the school? There are several on Victor street as well...
You know, we should also identify people with fruit trees that they would like other people to come and pick. Lots of fruit goes to waste in our neighborhood, sad to say...

She did offer her garden...she is my next door neighbor, quite handy for me to walk over with my dish or offer extra tables, haha.
I think a little later when it warms up some will be more ideal.
