So you want to get rid of cars? Would you think this way if you lived in Point Roberts where we have no ferry to connect us to the rest of the state and county? Would you cycle all the way from Point Roberts to Bellingham every time you needed to get down there from here or not go at all? I thought about getting an old Diesel and running it on used vegetable oil til I found out I couldn't do it from here because all the fast food restaurants in the lower mainland around Vancouver sell their used oil to a company that won't sell small amounts to someone wanting to run a car off it. Not sure if people around Bellingham have this same problem or not, but would be interested to know. Are any of you running Diesel cars on used vegetable oil? Hi Everyone in the Whatcom 2020 group. I wanted to let you know of a global campaign to move people to action NOW, to get us to 80% reduction by 2020, it's called 10:10 (www.1010global.org). I added an mp3 to the main Discussion page I thought this group might appreciate. It's a live report from Living on Earth's Steve Curwood from the Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen. It's very moving, really helps to develop empathy and understanding of the effects happening now from climate change.
I hope you get a chance to listen to it.

I think there was going to be one on the I-5 overpass on Alabama. I was busy, so I couldn't go (I think it already happened at the same time as the others).

Very inspiring and moving, Tristan. Tears are rolling freely. Thank you! I so appreciate opportunities to express my heart about the crisis' we are all facing - it strengthens my commitment and focus and builds a bridge between my heart and my words. Did you attend a vigil? Did I miss an opportunity?

Peak oil report hopefully out before the end of the year. We are ALMOST done...after more than a year of work.
