I've not read much else on the subject, but this does seem like an excellent article.  I also recommend it.
Thanks for the post, those were very informative. It sounds like our work is cut out for us - starting a business, going traveling and getting married all at the same time!

Here is another resource for intentional communities.  It talks about a community called JavaRanch, which uses a combination of concensus, democratic (vote) and dictator (one decision maker) to make their decisions.
