Kate!  Yes I'll help at a work party if you bring the Mud Girls to our area!  http://www.mudgirls.ca/Site/hire.html

Let me know the dates when you gave them scheduled.

It would be great if someone started a TW Discussion thread on their work as many beyond Robs group will be interested.

Hey Mark,

The internships are great ways to learn about natural-building and community, The program is packed with day time projects and meals are shared so the aspect of living in community also plays a huge role.

if your family is adventurous  it is worth checking out.

sincerely,

Rob

Hello Bob,

I am interested in and excited about the possibliity of such an internship.  I am a journeyman carpenter, artist and lover of natural things.  Would this be suitable for a family?  I am married with three young boys that we home school.

We have been interested in something like this for a long time.

Thanks,

Earthen ovens are thick walled to retain the heat of the fire which is cleaned out before baking, food is cooked as the heat is released into the chamber, the slow release of the heat creates a unique texture to breads calazones pizzas and other baked goods.   Earthen ovens have been part of village life for centuries, people would congregate to bake their loaves in communal ovens, meals were prepared and shared around these mounds worldwide, come be a part of the wood fired oven experience.

Premiere 25 acre Permaculture Sustainable Village Demonstration Site and Education Center still has some positions open at O.U.R. ECOVILLAGE for:
1)  Natural Building Skillbuilder Internship which focuses on ecological design with founding natural building teacher/architectural designer Elke Cole and artist builder/conventional builder team.  This program is unlike most anything inNorth America as it focuses on legal permitted building construction and is working with green engineers, building inspectors, and a range of artist teachers and previous students.  Participants who complete O.U.R. Internship may be eligible to be hired as 'Continuing Interns' for further learning with an honorarium as we are working on an Affordable Housing Affiliate project with the Fuller Foundation (founders from Habitat for Humanity) to work with them on combining healthy and affordable housing!  http://ourecovillage.org/courses-events/natural-building/
2)  Sustainable Food Production Skillbuilder Internship created to support "New Generation Farmers"....young and older alike.  This Internship is offered in an immersed learning community environment, a full featured farm school, that integrates food security/production into all facets of community development.  You may be here for an Internship and yet have access to so many other learning focuses concurrently.  This program offers the core curriculum from Gaia College's Diploma Program and within the Internship you take your "Organic Master Gardener Certification", your "Growing Foods" course, and your International Permaculture Design Certification (ecological systems design).  Guest speakers, field trips to a range of bio-dynamic, horticultural therapy, and production farms..really make this a full featured program.  Lead farm manager, program coordinators and curriculum coordinators have a wide range of local and international permaculture experience.
http://ourecovillage.org/courses-events/food-production/sustainable-food-production-internship/?event_id=18
3)  Permaculture Design Certification at O.U.R. ECOVILLAGE is a highly unique course as it is actually in a fully immersed permaculture demonstration site, production farm, and education center.  Rather than having one or two lead teachers this course brings in a wide assortment of well known and up and coming teachers within the Permaculture movement.  With 10 years of PDC's onsite and an outstanding space to learn within a community dynamic....this course fills up quickly.  http://ourecovillage.org/courses-events/permaculture/permaculture-design-certificate-course/?event_id=10
4)  Other offerings....Organic Master Gardener, Cob in the Village, Earth Dance children's camp, The Way of Council I and II, we also offer volunteer opportunities, guesthouse accommodation, organizational retreats, organic weddings, alternative green burial project, and so much more......

PLEASE SHARE WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS..... Gift certificates available for family and friends, gifts for birthdays, weddings, holidays, green heart cards, etc......
