Transition Meeting Tuesday April 5

I missed the meeting tonight at the Co-op. Are there notes of that meeting going to be posted anywhere or would someone contact me about  it. My phone is 206-850-9654,

 

I am interested in a comment made by  (can't remember the screen name sorry)/ The question was about GMO seeds coming into Whatcom County. There are cattle ranches in the eastern part of the county and they may be interested in planting RoundUp Ready alfalfa. It is planting time and it makes me nervous.

Hi Richard, Welcome to our local GMO group!  I had not heard about a 'transition meeting" at the coop.

If it was on GMO, let us know the contact person, and we can invite them to this network if they are not already on it.

I won't be bringing much outside straw or hay on my site to reduce the chance of contamination by both herbicides & GMO seeds...

Good point about the straw and hay. My farmer friend is using horse manure for the first time this year but is composting in a good hot pile so the seed issue will hopefully be taken care of.
