Bike Bellingham is the 2011 local 350.org event

350.org has launched a 2011 project set for 9/24/2011, called "Moving Planet" with a website at www.moving-planet.org. In Bellingham, a project has risen up called "Bike Bellingham" which will feature family friendly bike rides from ten city schools that will converge at the Bellingham City Hall flag plaza for a climate rally/info fair from noon to 2 pm. There will also be an advanced ride from the plaza to the proposed Cherry Point Coal terminal leaving at 2 pm. If you would like more information, go to facebook.com/350bellingham. I will be posting additional information here as I learn more. However, there is a need for volunteers to help the day of the event, with pre-event postering canvassing for sponsors.

I am looking to start an intentional community

But the members have to agree they will only have one child or twins and believe we need a US law that requires a law stating so.  And who believe our US Governments can not stop global warming and we are doomed.

I also require those seeking to join our tribe, is they answer a questionnaire which I have posted on this Transition Whatcom website.

I have some money to invest and by pooling our money we can purchase enough land to sustain and grow our political economy.

I started a Facebook page but FB disabled my account for some goo damn reason for 30 days, but its been longer than 30 days.

We are in a war on science.     Over population is one of the big problems.

We live in a dynastic oligarchy made up of some 47 super rich kings and some 130 billionaire princes who rule for the most part and own the main stream news media. The June 2020 homeless count found 66,400 people living on the streets, in a shelter, or in their cars and in LA, up 12.7 percent.

The richest one tenth of one percent of Americans own 17% of stocks

The richest 1% own 50% of stocks

The bottom 50% own 0.7% of stocks

From 1979 to 2019:

  • wages for the top 0.1% grew more than twice as fastThe top 1.0% saw their wages grow by 160.3%; and
  • In contrast, those in the bottom 90% had annual wages grow by 26.0% from 1979 to 2019.

Take away the wealth of the super rich

Hi fellow activists,

Well, another year has passed and I'm still requesting the county stop spraying Roundup on the side of nearly 250 miles of our roads polluting our waterways and affecting  the health of citizens, waterways, not to mention wildlife, soil and microorganisms.
This year the World Health Organization has classified Roundup as class 2 probable carcinogen. The New York Times just reported the EPA has hidden the proof for decades. Many countries have banned the use of glyphosate and GMO's including the Netherlands within the last few days due to the recent report.
After public objection to roadside spraying, the County Council last year requested the Public Works department get data from other counties who have stopped using chemicals for weed control.  The report is being presented on Tuesday, June 9, at the committee meeting at 1:30 in council chambers. However, they are scheduled to vote on passing the updated 2015 Roadside Vegetation Plan, (that was written prior to the "Research on No spray Counties"),  that night at the regular council meeting, which would leave the County's current spraying policy in place. This leaves no time for review of the information being presented at 1:30 or public dialog on the matter.
If this matters to you, please show up Tuesday at 1:30, and possibly 7:00PM and voice your opposition to spraying and ask for time and space for citizen input. I hope to see as many of you as possible as the County has been in a "do nothing" approach on this for years.
Also, pass this on to anyone you think would be interested in attending this meeting or contacting our council members.
Thanks everyone, let me know if you have questions as we only have a few days.
