Hi Heather, Thanks for the great information on soil testing and nourishment. It would be great to have a local business do soil testing. I did find a resource for rock dust or in my case Azomite. Northern Lights in Mt. Vernon had both Azomite and glacial rock dust. They also gave me a free bag of biochar they just got in. I'm not quite sure how to use it, I definitely need to do some more research before I apply it.

They do have a store in Bellingham on Hannegan and Bakerview that carries these products and possibly the K-mag potassium fertilizer.

I have started growing comfrey for deep minerals and make goat manure tea as well as nettle tea for fertilizer. Since my garden is raised bed, intensive gardening I feel it needs a continual dose of nutrients.

I obtained glacier rock dust from the B'ham Farmers Coop last year, but I've not added it yet. In Steve Solomens newest book, Intelligent Gardener, he shared how Cascadia soil are often high in Potassium.

My bag of rock dust lists Potassium.

We do need to be adding the deep rooted 'weed' plants to our compost, and considering balancing both our micro & macro nuitrients in the soil.....Feed the soil versus eating factory vitimens.

I'm consider this business as a regional source: http://www.blacklakeorganic.com/OresRockMinerals

Stephanie, have you chosen a place to obtain a soil test at?
