Event Description

Resilient Gardening Class
with Celt Shira
November 16th at 6:30 pm
at the Woolley Market

Resilient gardening makes the most of the space you have, here in our tricky maritime climate. This class shows you how to grow calorie crops (squash, field corn, potatoes, dry beans and peas) in the garden. We will also talk about winter gardening, planning a garden for subsistence, and growing small amounts of grains for brewing, baking, feed and cover crops. If time permits, we will have a little introduction to seed saving.

About Celt: Celt is self-employed as an electrical engineer and tax preparer. Gardening is her self-unemployment insurance. She teaches urban homesteading skills in Bellingham.
