SUMMARY:2012 Bellingham Solar Tour and Itek Energy Factory Tour
DESCRIPTION:On October 6th the American Solar Energy Society’s (ASES
 ) national solar tour is coming to Bellingham.  Bringing together ins
 tallers, manufactures and system owners alike the Bellingham solar tou
 r is chance to explore the potential of solar energy here in the North
 west.  Starting the day’s festivities at 9 am will be an opportunit
 y to tour the facility of Bellingham’s newest addition to the renewa
 ble industry by walking around Itek Energy solar panel manufacturing p
 lant.  Join us for some coffee and a bit to eat while exploring the p
 rocess of solar manufacturing you will also have an opportunity to mee
 t with local installers, Ecotech Energy Systems, Advanced Solar Energy
  and Western solar, energy efficiency professionals as well as other e
 nergy efficiency professionals and representatives from the Community 
 Energy Challenge, a local program that helps home and business owners 
 access financial incentives and low-interest loans for energy efficien
 cy projects, including solar.  Then at 10 am the actual tour will beg
 in with tour sites opening their doors for attendees to go out and exp
 lore local solar.  After discussing potential sites and photovoltaics
  with local installers attendees will then be equipped to travel out t
 o the individual sites around Bellingham and discuss with system owner
 s how solar has worked for them with some solar knowledge already unde
 r their belt.  With the tour running until 4 pm that day there is ple
 nty time to visit as many, if not all, the tour sites that might tickl
 e ones fancy.  This year’s tour has sites ranging from the North Fo
 rk Brewery to the Bellingham coop the adaptability and diversity of so
 lar will be a highlight of this year’s tour.\nItek Energy’s manufa
 cturing facility is located at 3886 Hammer Drive Bellingham, Wa 98226 
 off Hannegan Road in the Iron Gate industrial park.\nFor those interes
